Bible Institute
The IBIENA Bible Institute (Instituto Bíblico para las Iglesias Evangélicas Nativas de la Amazonía) trains indigenous families in sound biblical teaching. Its goal is to mature them in knowledge and character so they are able to teach the Word of God, make disciples, establish indigenous churches, and serve according to their gifts within their cultural contexts and beyond.
Our training is based on three essential steps:
1.
KNOW GOD
The foundation is a personal relationship with God. The training helps to understand His character and His actions more deeply – not just with the head, but with the heart.
2.
WALK WITH GOD
This is about the spiritual life. The students grow in their relationship with God, learn obedience, and shape their daily lives from trusting and walking closely with Him.
3.
Serve God
We connect the classroom to daily life. The training forms faithful employees who serve the community and the world – with love, clarity, and devotion.
Structure of training at IBIENA
The training at IBIENA is divided into two learning blocks per year.
Each block lasts approximately 12 weeks (about 3 months) and allows for a concentrated and practical learning period.
Block 1
March – June
This block is aimed at students in 2., 3rd and 4th year .
Block 2
September – November
This block includes students from the introductory course, the first year, and the pedagogy course.
The complete training program lasts at least four years. Each section builds upon the previous one, leading step by step to personal and spiritual maturity.

program for women
The students’ wives have a study program tailored specifically to them. It covers biblical topics related to their daily lives. The aim of the training is to strengthen them in their roles as women, wives, mothers, and believers.
The program includes courses in biblical teaching, discipleship, health topics, sewing, Spanish as a second language, child rearing, literacy, and a teaching course for Sunday school teachers.
Children’s Program
While the parents are in class, the children have their own program at the kindergarten. They play together, sing songs, listen to Bible stories, and learn about Bible values.
They have a snack, learn how to brush their teeth, and, depending on their age, also receive preschool activities. Twice a week they participate in “Hora Feliz,” where mothers listen to Bible stories together with their children.
Medical care & training
The many Bible students, along with their wives and children, bring various diseases with them from their tribal territories. Tuberculosis, malaria, and especially parasites are frequently diagnosed and treated. Various vaccinations are administered, and it is often necessary to provide midwifery care.
The team at the infirmary teaches hygiene, health topics, and first aid courses to the Bible students.
