Tribal Visits

So, go there…

We want to meet Indigenous people where they live, understand their reality, listen to them, and live the Gospel together with them. That’s why we travel to their villages. In personal encounters, we want to focus on Jesus Christ. Our desire is that He transform lives, families, and communities.

Tribal Visits

Part of our mission, besides training, is to accompany indigenous people – through various visits we want to encourage Christians, communities and church leaders with their families on site, accompany them in their daily lives and be there for them in a very practical way.

This also involves raising awareness and understanding of the tensions between traditional worldviews and the challenges and innovations of the modern world – such as the internet, education, the environment, finances, health, and medicine – and finding biblically grounded ways to deal with these changes. During our travels, we also provide medical assistance in cooperation with government agencies and support small social projects such as beekeeping, small animal husbandry, and improving water quality.

Well Construction

In our workshop in Cashibo, we manufacture high-quality and durable components for wells. We then travel to the villages to drill new wells or repair existing ones. Clean drinking water is essential for life, yet many communities in the Amazon rainforest lack access to it. Together with the villagers, we are committed to ensuring that people have lasting access to safe drinking water. In our personal interactions, we also remind them that Jesus wants to give us living water.

Through the Good News of Jesus Christ, children and young people receive valuable guidance for their lives, helping them to cope with the challenges of our time. There are numerous evangelical churches that we would like to support and promote in their children’s and youth ministry over the long term. Although many training courses have already been conducted, there is a shortage of trained indigenous leaders with access to appropriate teaching materials for this important task. We offer systematic training for Sunday School teachers and/or youth leaders. Upon request from indigenous churches, we conduct regional training courses within the communities, which are translated into their own languages whenever possible. The goal of the training is to develop regional leaders who will then conduct their own courses.

In addition to the training at the Bible Institute, we also want to be directly involved with the indigenous Christians in their communities. This includes visiting graduates and students, as well as gathering them in groups for joint instruction. We delve deeper into topics already covered at the Bible Institute and also introduce new material. Pastoral care is also provided on-site, offering guidance and support to the people. It is important to us that we, as staff members, spend time in the villages ourselves, learning from the residents and their faith. This allows us to better understand their living conditions and challenges, and to tailor our assistance to their specific realities.

Our mechanics teach one- to two-week mechanics courses in the villages. Participants learn how engines are constructed, the names of their components, and how to assemble them. This enables them to later repair the engines of boats, brush cutters, and chainsaws independently, sometimes far from the nearest workshop.

In addition to providing practical help in the mechanics course, we also accompany people in a spiritual sense, holding devotions or preaching in church services and talking to them about the Gospel.
